IMPRESS is introducing changes to its financial arrangements. After consulting with our current regulated publishers and processing their feedback, we are now opening up the process to other publishers and the general public. Changes include a new fee structure.
IMPRESS publicly consults on changes to its financial arrangements because future regulated publishers could be affected by these. The funding of an independent system of self-regulation for the press should be agreed to by the industry and IMPRESS, taking into account the commercial pressures on the industry.
IMPRESS is the only regulator to be approved under the Royal Charter for self-regulation of the press. This requires us to be transparent about our financial arrangements and to consult with the wider news industry and the public over any changes which may affect access to IMPRESS membership or its services. We encourage all news publishers – regulated by IMPRESS or not – and others who have an interest in our work to take part in the consultation. The consultation period will run from 15 March to 15 April at 5pm.
Read and respond to the consultation.
Details on our structure and our funding arrangements, or our status as an approved press regulator, are available on our website. If you have any further questions, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
